Online Safety

Parents, beware:

We have become increasingly aware of some highly inappropriate videos circulating in our homes within Bullitt County. The "Momo Challenge" is a form of cyberbullying that spreads through social media, internet and cell phones. Recent reports indicate that these challenges may be appearing on YouTube videos in the middle of what seems to be a non-threatening and entertaining video for children, even Kids YouTube. The purpose of this letter is to make you aware of this challenge, provide you with information about it and urge you to monitor your child’s social media and internet use. We encourage you to read this excerpt regarding Online Safety for Children and keep in mind that your conversations of this nature are developmentally appropriate. For more information or guidance regarding this particular concern or any other concern for your child, please talk to your school counselor or principal.
